The LES Bingo Night has been rescheduled for this Friday, March 6, at 6 p.m. Be sure to attend. Get in on those huge fun baskets created by each class, the cakewalk, hotdogs, and of course bingo! It is a benefit for the Lyons Elementary School. See you there!

La Fiesta Esta Aqui!

The cold snowy weather last Saturday afternoon couldn’t put a damper on la fiesta for Ramon Vasquez, Carmen Cruz and their children, as scores of family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and volunteers joined Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley to turn over the keys, and dedicate the couple’s new home on Park Street.

The Vasquez family’s home, just a half block from the river, was destroyed in the 2013 flood. Through the help of Lyons Volunteer Coordinator Ed Kean, the family

Planet Runs Best Festival On The Planet!

The Telluride Bluegrass Festival, produced by Lyons’ own Planet Bluegrass, was awarded “Music Festival of the Year” at the 26th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards, held at the Ryman Auditorium last Saturday night, February 21. Faces of this Housing Issue

Dear Editor,
We are in the midst of a controversial (and sometimes painful and divisive) process of making an important decision together about the future of Lyons. By March 24, Lyons’ citizens will have chosen by vote whether we are willing to cede five to seven acres in Bohn Park for the purpose of building affordable recovery housing.

Wyoming, More Than Yellowstone

Roads Traveled with Linda L. Osmundson

Yes, Yellowstone and the Grand Teton Mountains are probably the most well known destinations in Wyoming. However, there are other smaller interesting tourist attractions. We travel I-80 often in route to Salt Lake City to see grandchildren but seldom go north on I-25.

Today I’ll give you ideas for two-day trips along those routes.
