About Town - April 18, 2013

Wow first a nice rain, and now a nice BIG snowstorm, and more coming (13” yesterday), which will green the grass, save us from fires, give us drinking water, help the farmers, and is truly worth millions of dollars to all. We are all very thankful.

I have an anniversary coming up; April 23, 1950, F. LaVerne Johnson of Niwot and I were married in the Lyons Methodist Church, with Rev. Albert Wagner presiding. Truly a long time ago.  I worked for O. J. Ramey

BOT Moves Forward On Library District

By  Joseph Lekarczyk

In the interest of full disclosure, let it be known that the author of this article is married to the Mayor.

Your intrepid journalist, who only had to drive five blocks through the mess, was not one of the fortunate few.

Lyons Substation Supervisor Sgt. Nick Goldberger reported, “Besides the snow and the elk that were spotted outside of Town Hall, everything was pretty normal in Lyons.” Believe it or not, no citizens braved the tempest to participate in audience business, so that was “skipped over.” It was then on to the approval of a special event permit by the Town of Lyons for a “Diva Dash” 5K race event to be held in Bohn Park on Saturday, May 4. Mayama Movement Studio owners Ali Kishiyama and Jasmine Lok are pleased and excited about moving their studio down the street. Currently located in the rear of The Stone Cup & Kitchen, the two women have been in negotiations with representatives of the Colorado Odd Fellows Association to rent the Odd Fellows Hall, which has been unused since the local branch stopped functioning last year. Dear Lyons Community,
So, you might be wondering if you should go to the Lyons 9Health Fair on Saturday, April 20, from 7 a.m. to noon at the Lyons High School. You’re thinking, “There is nothing wrong with me. I’m in pretty good health.
