Kirk Udovich recently joined the Lyons Community Foundation Advisory Board of Directors. He has been a Lyons resident for the past sixteen years. Kirk loves the town, in particular the people of Lyons, and welcomes an opportunity to serve the community. Udovich was previously a three-term member of the Town Board of Trustees. Kirk is a software engineer for the University of Washington.
Kirk first moved to Lyons for love of the trails. He spends at least an hour every day getting out to run, mountain bike or climb. He loves life in Lyons with his wife Chris, his two daughters CeAnn and Kylee now both at Lyons High School, and their dog Macie.

The Board of Trustees (BOT) sailed through a light agenda at a special “fifth Monday” (usually only meet on the first and third Mondays of a month) meeting earlier this week.
A consent agenda, consisting of four resolutions was approved in short order. The first resolution approved a contract with Land Title to perform the title work for properties in the CDBG-DR buyout program. The second, also with Land Title approved a contract to do the title work for all properties in the HMGP buyout program. The third was the approval of a contract with the Western Area Power Administration. And

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office honored four retiring staff members who combined, had almost 135 years of service to the Boulder County community.
Retirements included: Dan Barber – Deputy Director of the Office of Emergency Management; Doug Caven – Jail Commander; Jeff Hendry – Operations Commander; and Sue Yankovich – Jail Sergeant.
The four retiring staff members were highly accomplished. Combined they had over twenty commendations, merit citations

When we lived in the Seattle area for several years, I learned why they call it the Emerald City. It rains! The grass is always green! And the city boasts some 6000 park acres. Actually, the winner of a Convention and Visitor’s Bureau contest coined the name in the early 1980s. It correlates with the state nickname, the Evergreen State.

Seven grandchildren, seven adults, a fiftieth wedding anniversary, and Dixieland Jazz; what more could my husband and I ask for a family cruise? Even though this is our third Alaskan trip, we lucked out to find it a fit with all fourteen members’ schedules. Of course, they make it fit when Mom and Dad provide an all-inclusive party for their first cruise! It will be special in many ways. We leave Seattle June 28, and return July 5.
