Resources for those still needing flood recovery assistance now that Colorado Spirit is gone

Although Colorado Spirit is no longer in Lyons, there are still resources for residents.

• Mental Health Partners is opening an office in Lyons as soon as someone is hired. The new office is in Lyons Village Central next to the Chamber of Commerce’s new offices. There will be a therapist there Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Joseph J. Hallgring

Joseph J. Hallgring of Longmont died on December 28 surrounded by his family. He was 92.

Joe was a lifelong resident of Union, New Jersey before settling in Colorado to join his children and grandchildren in 2011. He was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Lorraine Goff Hallgring, for almost seventy years.

Calling All Artists

Art on the Green announces its open call to area artists. Now in its second year, Art on the Green is a yearly celebration of the arts in Lyons, Colorado. The two-day event will be held on Father’s Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 20 and 21.

New Voice and Sight Tag Changes

Starting on New Year’s Day, dogs under voice-and-sight control of their guardians on designated City of Boulder trails must wear blue Voice and Sight Program Tags. Previously issued green tags will no longer be valid.

Most individuals pursuing post-secondary education receive some sort of financial aid. Financial aid is comprised of scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study. Last month, high school seniors were advised to focus on applying for scholarships. Use January to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
