If it’s mid-August with afternoon showers, and the kids are back at school, it must be time for FolksFest. The twenty-third annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, a.k.a., “Summit on the Song” got underway Monday morning with the always-popular prelude, the Song School. Each year hundreds of singer/songwriter/musicians come together for four days and nights at

That was a great rain Saturday evening, and nice to have. Luckily there was not much hail or a tornado with it. We lucked out. I hear over TV that the roofers swarmed into Windsor and Erie on Sunday morning, all trying to get the most jobs. By the signs around town, about two-dozen roofing companies swarmed into Lyons last month, each telling you “they are the best.” How do we know! According to the TV, you should get three bids for replacing your roof, do not pay ahead, and make sure you get a good job.
