In the interest of full disclosure, let it be known that the author of this letter is married to the person who wrote “A Challenge.”
I felt that it was in the best interest of the Garden Club’s Chili Cook off to clear up a few things that the smarty-pants author of the previous letter wrote.
Fall is here, a time to enjoy the beauty of the leaves and the cooler nights. Enough of that terrible heat; more than 60 days of over 90 degrees! Wow. Let’s hope we have a lot of snow, as you can hardly see a patch of snow on the peaks.

Not a day goes by that we do not hear how severe this “Great Recession” has wreaked havoc on our nation’s economy. To many experts, it reflects how deeply our new global economy is interconnected in this new age of globalization. In the past, these connections had more to do with how the various states coordinated their respective efforts with the direction of the national economy. In today’s modern world, the United States can no longer operate in a vacuum, so to speak.
