Patricia Ann Malone, 73, of Lyons died November 29, 2012 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.

She was born September 28, 1939 in Akron, Ohio to Arthur C. and Ruth (Buttriss) Poe.

Her father’s work in education took the family to such varied locations as La Push, Washington, American Samoa, and Pensacola, Florida.  Her lifelong love of horses began at Holland

In the interest of full disclosure, let it be known that the author of this article is married to the Mayor.

Thank goodness the Board of Trustees (BOT) decided to postpone their regularly scheduled  November 19 meeting and public hearing on the 2013 Town budget until November 26, after the Thanksgiving holiday, to ensure that more citizens would be in town, and able to voice their feelings about how the Town’s tax revenues are spent. Oh, wait a minute, no one showed up at the public hearing anyway! Never mind.

Here it is December; time for Christmas and all its festivities.  Be sure to see the Lyons Light Show in Sandstone Park (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday); go to the Christmas Bazaar (Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.), and have some of that good Golden Gang chili;  do your shopping (candy, gifts, baked food), and meet Santa; topped off by the Parade of Lights at 6:30 p.m., and fireworks (fireworks where cancelled on November 30, 22) after the parade. Hot drinks will be served near the fountain in Sandstone Park by The River Church , and a bake sale and pork sandwiches and chips near the Visitors’ Center to benefit the Museum
