Some of our earliest memories are of swimming with friends in the summer, playing in the school playground in the fall, exchanging silly gifts at Christmas, or secret messages being exchanged. My public school education was in Colorado School District RE-1 several decades ago. One of the outstanding teachers that I had in high school periodically lectured on “sacred cows.” I didn’t do well in Mr. Bliss’s classes, and I didn’t appreciate him until much later in life.

The idea didn’t particularly interest me (setting up chairs and/or giving people directions to designated parking lots didn’t seem like a great way to spend a Wednesday afternoon and evening).
