Pediatric Healthcare Choices: Immunizations

Stillwater Healing Arts Clinic

By Dr. Sara Hart, ND, MSOM, LAc

The pediatric immunization schedule is a tool used to inform the public of what the government decides is the best approach to controlling diseases with an epidemic potential.  This tool has become more extensive with increasing numbers of immunizations recommended as pharmacology has broadened to address a larger amount of infectious diseases.  Numerous concerns have simultaneously developed about the impact of administering these medications to infants and children.

Lyons Cross Country at Nike Cross Southwest Regional

By Renée Haip

The journey of an endurance runner does not begin at day one of official practice each season, but rather is a continuum spanning years.  The dedicated distance crew of Lyons High School trains for all but four weeks of the year; they take a two-week break after each cross-country and track season.  Though the official season ended with the state meet, five Lyons’ athletes accompanied by Coaches Boelé and Roberts

The “Thin Mints Exception”

By Joseph Lekarczyk

In the interest of full disclosure, let it be known that the author of this article is married to the Mayor.

Thank goodness the Board of Trustees (BOT) decided to postpone their regularly scheduled  November 19 meeting and public hearing on the 2013 Town budget until November 26, after the Thanksgiving holiday, to ensure that more citizens would be in town, and able to voice their feelings about how the Town’s tax revenues are spent. Oh, wait a minute, no one showed up at the public hearing anyway! Never mind.

Chose from jewelry, raggedy dolls, table runners, potholders, tree decorations, coasters, and more.  If you want to donate crafts, or join the crafters after lunch at the senior center, call Shirley DeVeny (303)

Go With Your Gut

Part 4 of 4:  Core Strength In & Out

We all know that person who can eat anything they want, anytime they want, and in any portion they want and be just fine.  That maddening individual’s belly doesn’t seem phased by double dessert, carbo-loading, or going back for seconds of just about anything.  In comparison to those with heartburn, bloating, cramping and other annoying symptom combinations, it just doesn’t seem

Colorado Agricultural Exports Important for State

By John T. Salazar, Commissioner of Agriculture

When thinking about the goods or services that Colorado exports to other countries, agricultural products may not be the first thing that crosses your mind.  Think again.
Agricultural exports have become increasingly important to our state’s economy, with high-quality, locally grown products sold from our farmers and ranchers to worldwide markets that are rich with opportunity.  And these exports are growing rapidly, doubling since 2009 to $2.1 billion.  I am excited about the continued growth of Colorado’s agricultural exports to international

About Town Nov. 15, 2012

VETERANS DAY WAS SUNDAY, with the Longmont parade on Saturday.  The Lyons High School Band participated in the parade, with a large crowd in spite of the cold and snow.  All paid their respects to  our veterans for the years given out of their lives, and the many who gave of their lives to defend the USA. We honor all service people and those from our area who were
