Lyons Housing Recovery Task Force

For the sake of clarity and transparency, The Housing Recovery Task Force would like to explain the processes that are currently underway to ensure that Lyons recovers stronger, more sustainable, and more resilient than we were pre-flood.

The Housing Recovery Task Force is an umbrella task force of citizen volunteers. The Lyons Board of Trustees appointed the Task Force to consolidate and identify possible housing recovery solutions and to support the town’s

Managing Stress - When Something's Got to Give

By Dr. Sara Hart
First there was the flood; then there were the decisions every person made to survive.  For most people, these were very different decisions than those made weeks and even days prior. If you have already applied for post secondary education, scholarships, and completed the FAFSA, follow up with schools to ensure they have transcripts and all application material. Some schools require your mid-year transcript.

The Lyons Lions boys’ basketball team took on the powerful Strasburg Indians (13 and 2, 5 and 1 in league play) last Friday night (January 31). Despite playing some tough defense right from the start of the game, Lyons found themselves down 18 to 11 after the first quarter.  Zach Christiansen was hot with shooting three pointers for the

In the interest of full disclosure, let it be known that the author of this article is married to the Mayor.

Instead, what is was, was the Confluence Group, thirty or forty very respectful Lyons residents, whose homes were severely damaged during the September flood, who want to stand united and let the Trustees and Town Staff know they are, though still
