It's that time of year to sign up for the Redstone Museum Summer Camp. This year themes are Kitchens & Old-time cooking; 125th year Anniversary of Town and its beginnings. Day program includes daily craft, light lunch, a skit and a giant souvenir scrapbook. Camp is held Aug. 1-5, 9:30 to 12:30 pm. Cost is $50 - with support by Lyons Community Foundations. use, spending most of her waking hours playing in her kayak at Black Bear Hole here in Lyons, and traveling to freestyle kayak competitions around the state. Last month at the Lyons Outdoor Games she placed second in the Junior Division, and then last weekend at the GoPro Games Fankhouser competed directly against the pro women. She placed fifth out of thirteen women the first day in the preliminaries, and moved onto the semi-finals. There she placed seventh (the top five moved on to finals), an impressive accomplishment given she was the youngest competitor by many years.
