A retrospective survey of Betty Woodman’s works on paper, made in collaboration with Lyons area resident Master Printer Bud Shark, will open with a reception Saturday, March 14, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the 15th Street Studio (1708 15th Street) in Boulder. The show will run through Thursday, April 30.

On Thursday, February 26, at 7:30 p.m., the Lyons High School jazz band led by Dr. Karen Greg will perform downstairs at Oskar Blues. These kids are great, work hard at their music, and sound wonderful. Come on by and support these local young people, and thank Karen for all her hard work with our kids. She has really made our school’s youngsters into fine musicians.

Fun, food and fortuitous finances brought joy to the Lyons Golden Gang, the senior Meals-on-Wheels group. The Valentine's Day holiday activities began with a big slice of cheesecake, dripping with strawberries, during the senior lunch on Friday. The Lady Lions basketball squad traveled to downtown Denver to play Denver Christian. The teams both had equal records and it looked like the Lady Lions had the game in hand but, this season has truly been a roller coaster ride and nothing has been easy.

The Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley announces You’re the Top …Tribute to Teachers to be held on May 8. The event will be held at The Plaza Conference Center and will include a dinner, Encore Awards for excellence in teaching and entertainment.

It was a quiet week for the Lyons High School boys’ basketball team as they had only one competition, an away game against Denver Christian. The Lions were without a couple key players; starter Owen George was out with an illness and big man Max Schneeweiss was injured (luckily he will be back for the playoffs).
