The Lady Lions (2-6) have played six of their last eight games on the road against bigger and more experienced squads. The Lyons High School varsity boys’ basketball team has completed preseason competition with a 4 and 4 record. The team, under the guidance of head coach Andrew Smith, has victories over Clear Creek (twice), Front Range Christian and Valley. Thank you to everyone who participated in the 10th Annual Christmas Eve candlelight service. We are especially grateful to Craig Ferguson for his generosity in opening the Wildflower Pavilion at Planet Bluegrass to us. It was especially meaningful to gather there again.

Joseph J. Hallgring of Longmont died on December 28 surrounded by his family. He was 92.
Joe was a lifelong resident of Union, New Jersey before settling in Colorado to join his children and grandchildren in 2011. He was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Lorraine Goff Hallgring, for almost seventy years.

Most individuals pursuing post-secondary education receive some sort of financial aid. Financial aid is comprised of scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study. Last month, high school seniors were advised to focus on applying for scholarships. Use January to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
