Restocking of the St. Vrain River

Earlier this week South Creek Ltd., “hatched” a plan to restock the St. Vrain River with scores of twelve to fourteen inch rainbow trout. Construction workers snap pictures of the fish as they are released into the river in Meadow Park.

The Lyons Garden Club and local Girl Scout Troop 3982 “flocked” the Town Hall Plaza with a dozen pink flamingos in honor of LaVern Johnson’s special night. It’s amazing to see a community “kicking it in” to help one of their own. For months, a team of folks have been planning, contacting, and soliciting for a very special community event. On Saturday, May 7, (the day before Mothers’ Day) from 3 to 7 p.m., in the Wildflower Pavilion at Planet Bluegrass, an amazing fundraiser will take place.
The Boulder County Community Sort Yard program, a free log and slash disposal service for mountain residents, will open for the 2016 collection season this month.
County residents can drop off tree branches, logs, and pine needles free of charge at either sort yard location. Please check web site for other services offered.
