Boulder County Parks and Open Space will host a public meeting to present preliminary plans for rebuilding sections of Pella Crossing Open Space damaged during the 2013 Flood. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 6:30 p.m., at the Boulder County Parks & Open Space building, 5201 Saint Vrain Road, Longmont
At the meeting, staff will present the preliminary plan for fixing breaches between the ponds and restoring the trailhead, trails, and access and be available to answer questions.

The voter turnout was not nearly as high as last month’s replacement housing in the park question, but a little over seven hundred residents did turn in their ballots. The results are in. To the question, “Shall an ordinance be adopted requiring voter approval for any decision to rezone land in the parks/open space zone district larger than on-half acre, or for any decision to zone land without a zoning designation and encumbered by a conservation easement to a zone that allows commercial or residential use?”
The answer is 386 – FOR, and 328 – AGAINST.

On Sunday, April 12, Kim Rees of Thayne, Wyoming was mountain biking with her husband in the Rabbit Mountain Open Space just east of Lyons. Boulder police are asking the public to help identify the suspect in an armed robbery, which occurred on Wednesday, April 8, in the 2900 block of East College Avenue. The female victim was inside her parked vehicle when the suspect approached her and told her he intended to rob her. According to the victim, the suspect displayed a handgun. The suspect fled the area (possibly in a silver sedan) when the victim’s friend arrived.
