To celebrate fifty years of continuous publication and add some fun to the Good Old Days celebration, the Lyons Recorder will conduct a “Yahtzee Subscription Drive” in Sandstone Park on Saturday afternoon, June 24. We will have five large “lawn dice,” and participants will be invited to give them a roll. Get a Yahtzee, and win a two-year subscription to the paper! Total more than 24 points on the five dice, and you get a one-year subscription at half price. Come on down to our booth and support your hometown newspaper.
Join the Town of Lyons for the 41st Annual Good Old Days, a longstanding, community-wide outdoor event that brings together Lyons locals far and wide in a celebration of community. This year, the event will be held in Sandstone Park, with activities for the whole family. Good Old Days will kick-off with the annual Lyons River Run 5K, and features a full schedule with Pancakes in the Park, the Good Old Days Car Show, History Programs, Kids Games, Artisan Booths, Entertainment, Live Music, Lyons Chamber of Commerce Beer Garden, Food and More!

Join the Town of Lyons, Representative Jonathan Singer, Mayor Sullivan, and more for the official dedication of the LaVern M. Johnson Park, on Sat. June 24, beginning at 11 a.m.
Named after this dear, lifelong resident, who has been greatly involved in the town's parks nearly all her life, the dedication is part of the 41st Annual Lyons Good Old Days celebration.
The park was officially renamed in May 2016 by the Lyons Board of Trustees. The grand (re)opening (post flood) was September 9, 2016 which also marked the renaming of the park
as LaVern M. Johnson Park.
