“Off the Beaten Path”

In the iconic words of C+C Music Factory, “Everybody dance now!” Saturday, May 9, Mayama Movement Studio is proud to present their sixth annual dance recital. This year’s show is titled “Off the Beaten Path.” The recital will again take place in the auditorium at Niwot High, and the first number is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

“From the Ground Up”

Come celebrate summer with the opening of Rabbit Brush Gallery’s sculpture garden. “From the Ground Up” highlights new work by two local ceramicists: Boulder artist Cris Conklin and Lyons artist Marc Campbell. Cris uses the sgraffito technique to decorate her salt-fired pottery with images of beauty from the natural world. Marc is a utilitarian potter who creates soda-fired, functional, playful pieces.

A True Testament to Strength in Numbers

Dear Lyons Community,

Each of us experience pivotal moments in life. We are so fortunate to have a community full of family, friends, coworkers, artists, musicians, entrepreneurs and kind-hearted strangers. We are a product of our environment. We are extremely blessed and overwhelmed with the generosities, well wishes and positive energy extended to us. This is a true testament to strength in numbers.

Resilience Network Launches Quarterly Meetings

On Friday, May 8, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., BoCo Strong will be hosting an energizing morning of Ignite style presentations and cross-sector network building. The topic for this first meeting is “Enhancing our Connections.” The meeting will take place in the Xilinx Retreat Center (3100 Logic Drive) in Longmont, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Hospital Launches New Website

Longmont United Hospital recently launched a new, mobile-responsive website that enables users to find providers and practices, pay bills, request medical records, and stay connected with the Hospital from their desktop, tablet, or smartphone. The site (www.luhcares.org) is also accompanied by a new design and user interface to improve readability and highlight important information.

In the interest of full disclosure, let it be known that the author of this column is an elected official. Her opinions are hers, and do not necessarily reflect those of the entire Board of Trustees. 

Another week gone by, and a lot of good rain; We need it, but when it keeps coming in a downpour it is a worry! 

THIS THURSDAY, APRIL 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., there is a public meeting at the Lyons M/Sr  High School on spring run off. Residents from the Lyons area: North and South St. Vain, Lyons, Apple Valley, Longmont Dam Road, etc., are invited to attend. We should all be prepared, just in case. We have no control of the weather, scary!
