Western Stars will be celebrating their two-year anniversary from from 11 am -7 pm on Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19.

Both the Lyons High School boys’ and the girls’ cross-country teams are on their way to chase the holy grail of high school cross-country competition; the Colorado State championships. The teams successfully qualified at the Regional Meet held on Lyons Cross Country course last week for the right to compete in State Cross Country meet to be held at Bear Creek State Park on Saturday, October 28.
Expectations among the Lyons High School football squad were high for Saturday’s Byers game after a disappointing fourth quarter meltdown against Highland last week. Brisk winds and even stronger wills made for a scoreless first quarter as fans were sitting in the stands wondering if their Lions would be able to deliver.
The second quarter proved more productive. Thanks to a booming 55-yard punt by freshman, Aidan Christiansen, and a quick defensive stop, Lyons found themselves in great field position for Jake Laurienti to score, rushing 10-yards for the first touchdown. The Lions scored again with only a minute left to go in the half.
