Break the Winter Blahs

There’s nothing like friendly conversation over a hot nutritious meal during the cold, overcast days of winter. Lyons seniors have been enjoying this experience over the past several decades, thanks to dedicated volunteers and donors. The current senior center is located in the Walt Self Community Building on Railroad Avenue, next to the post office.

As one of the most widely recognized caretakers of the Creole fiddle tradition, Ed Poullard extends his musical virtuosity to the accordion as well. And, as if that weren’t enough, he has taken his love of the instrument even further, making and selling accordions that are both beautiful to look at, and a joy to play.

Another  week  gone  by. Where does time fly! We are all saying prayers this week due to the severe accident our good friend Rick England was in with driver Iann Clayton up the North St. Vrain by the Stone Mountain Lodge. Both are in the hospital with broken bones.
