The 2012/13 Lyons Elementary School PTO Board is extremely grateful for another successful year.  We want to extend a most sincere thank you to our local businesses, community members, teachers, staff, families, and students.  We could not have raised nearly $52,000 without you.  Here are just a few of the larger items we were able to purchase for our school with the help of your contributions.

Representative Jared Polis Speaks To Students

The Lyons High School government classes got a chance to ask questions of United States House of Representatives member Jared Polis last Thursday morning. On a short break from his duties in Washington D.C., Polis was making the rounds in Colorado’s Second District to find out what’s on his constituents’ minds. The students gave him an earful.

After Representative Polis gave a brief biography of himself, touched on the basic structure of the U.S. government, and covered his job description and duties, he opened it up to questions from the students. Lyons High School Received National Recognition

US News & World Report recently released their annual ‘Best High Schools’ rankings. After evaluating nearly 22,000 public high schools across the nation, three SVVSD high schools ranked in the top 5%, including Niwot High, Lyons Senior High, and Silver Creek High.
Schools were evaluated based on state proficiency standards, how well they prepare students for college, and other factors.
