Many in the academic world believe Geoffrey Chaucer’s 14th century literary masterpiece, “Canterbury Tales,” to have revolutionized English literature. What do you get when a troupe of
irreverent high school drama students put their own “Monty Python-esque” spin on this classic? “The Canterbury Tale – Geoffrey Chaucer’s Flying Circus.” The thespians will be taking the ironic, satiric, and sometimes-bawdy tales by a group of traveling pilgrims, and giving them a more contemporary take.
The performances will be Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26 at 7 p.m., and a Sunday matinee on February 27 at 2:30 p.m. All performances will be held at the Lyons Middle/Senior High School Cafetorium. Tickets are: Adults - $5, Students - $2.50 (If attending multiple performances, bring your old ticket stub for a discount). The production is being directed by Sandi Engelhorn.
