Undefeated Blue Mountain Stone got the night off Monday evening on the adult co-ed softball schedule of games in Bohn Park, and a pack of “also rans” used the league leaders’ respite to nip at the heels of the “Big Dog!” The Natural Disasters, McHeaters, and the Paddy Whackers, all sporting 2 – 1 records, seized the opportunity and won their respective contests to pull within a half a game of the Quarryworkers.

Adult Co-Ed Softball Back In Action
There was no sign of rust from any of the adult co-ed softball teams after the Memorial Day weekend lay-off. Monday night’s games were exciting and well played, with timely hitting and some great glove work in the field.

The Hooligans were attempting to get their first win of the season Monday night. Unfortunately, they were trying to get that win against Fast Signs, who were still licking their wounds from the drubbing they took last week, at the hands of the Blue Mountain Bullies. In their quest for a third repeat of double gold, the Lyons Lions traveled to the Colorado State Track and Field Championships where the Lady Lions were expected to have a legitimate battle with Paonia and 2A-newcomer Hotchkiss, as well as their usual worthy eastern plains’ competitor, Akron. Senior Nola Basey led the charge with her superior jumping abilities by taking the high jump win on day one with 5’4”.
