Lyons Has A Great Showing At State

By Wendy Stevelinck
For this year’s Lyons High School volleyball team, it’s their first trip to the State tournament. Yuma and Holyoke played the first match of the day. The Holyoke Dragons lost in straight sets to the host team, the Yuma Indians, so their spirits were down.

Then it was the Lady Lions turn to take on the Dragons. Lyons took a nice lead in the opening set, but the Dragons roared back to pull

Lions Maul Crusaders To Make Playoffs

By Oskar LaRue

The Lyons Lions football team ended their regular season last Friday night by routing the Denver Christian Crusaders 34 to 14 at Mead High School. The win snapped a two-game losing streak and got the Lions into the post-season playoffs. Talk about good timing. But the victory wasn’t as easy as the final score might imply. It took all sixteen guys to accomplish it.
