Jeff Klipstein returns for his third year as head coach of Lyons volleyball. Kliptein’s goal for the season is for “the team to play their best volleyball at districts and regional’s”.
During regular season play, Lyons is a member of the Patriot League which lacks a 2A classification in volleyball so the team will play against large schools like Berthoud. For postseason, the team will compete at the 2A level.
Returning seniors are Rachel Hinker, Ashlynn Overly, Molly Arp, Kylee Senesac, and Corbette Tschanz. Assistant coaches are Tami Bustamante – JV and Paula Maguire – CTeam. Lindsey Lewakowski (class of 2008) is a volunteer assistant coach.
Tuesday, August 31, there is a scrimmage at home from 3 - 6 p.m. Once again the team will compete in the Alexander Dawson Tournament. The tournament is next Friday and Saturday, September 3 and 4. Play begins at 9 a.m.
Lyons has games at Strasburg on September 7 and at Resurrection Christian on September 9. The first home game is against Longmont Christian on Saturday, September 11 (1 p.m. and 2 p.m.).
