On Tuesday, October 25, the Heritage Christian Eagles came to Lyons to play a first round match with the winner advancing to the district championships on Saturday. The match was hard fought and close. In the first set the Lady Lions had a strong performance, beating the Eagles 25-20. The next set the Eagles gained some momentum
On Tuesday, September 27, the Lady Lions played a home match against Highland. The “C” team began the afternoon by playing well but losing in three games: 25-12, 15-25 and 7-25. Coach Valerie Stuczynski thought “the girls kept their energy up. Karisa Dreyer really hustled on defense as did Lily Kincaid.” Dreyer and Kayla Grossnickle were consistent servers for the team.
The coaching staff of the Lyons High School varsity volleyball team have had their work cut out for them this season. Changing the line-up has been as commonplace as LaVern Johnson attending a Town Board meeting. However, both the coaches and players have risen to the challenge.
It was another busy week for the Lyons Volleyball team, playing five matches, two regular season matches and a weekend tournament. The first match of the week on Tuesday, September 13, pitted Lyons against Weld Central.
