The Lyons Track and Field teams, boys and girls, have dominated the state 2A scene for the previous two seasons (2011 and 2012). This year they are once again back as defending champions. While inclement weather was responsible for the cancelation of their first meet (RE-1J District), and basketball playoffs delayed the season and onset of practice for many athletes, the 2013 track and field season finally opened with the Lyons Relays on March 14.
As the Lyons Relays is an unconventional meet with the entire meet being scored in a relay format, it is always fun to watch and a terrific team building activity.
