Just in time for Father’s Day (or Mother’s Day for that matter), John Gierach’s new book “No Shortage of Good Days” has arrived at South Creek Ltd. on Main Street. No, I didn’t say the latest John Grisham, I said Gierach! John Gierach is a local author, syndicated columnist,
and fly-fishing guru. South Creek Ltd. proprietor Mike Clark says “John is signing them for us, and we have confirmed that our inventory is all first editions.” Clark anticipates that he will be shipping out copies via Priority Mail by Monday, May 9, so if there are any Lyons locals who would like a copy of this sure-to-be-a-bestseller, stop by the shop early, and pick up your copy. The cover price for the book is $24.
On a slightly different, but related note, the Colorado Cane Conclave, founded by Gary Carbaugh, is now being presented by South Creek Ltd., and Clark is pleased to announce that the event will again be held at the same venue, Planet Bluegrass, and with the same caterer, A Spice of Life Catering from Boulder. The Conclave, which brings together vendors, authors, and fly fishermen/women from all over the country who share a love for fishing with a bamboo rod, will be held on Sunday, August 7, and there are already 11 bamboo rod makers, plus authors Ed Engle, Michael Sinclair, and Jerry Stein registered to attend.
