It was an exciting and proud moment for everyone as the Lyons Lions took the court at one of eight Regional tournaments taking place across the state last weekend. Only one of the four teams in each Region would move on to make a bid for the State 2A Championship.
This past weekend the varsity Lions put one more giant paw print on the path of their quest to take the Lyons all the way to participate in the State tournament for the first time since 1984. They headed into the District 7 tournament as the third seed, which proved to be the perfect spot for them to launch their successful bid for the district championship.
The Lady Lions have now beaten every other team in their league, and as a result, they’re the new District 7 Champions! Lyons entered the District Tournament as the #3 seed, and started things off by crushing sixth seed Longmont Christian 48-22. Kylee Senesac and Shannon Gilman combined for Lyons’
