Dear Editor,
On July 14, Lyons experienced yet another big-hearted demonstration of community spirit and generosity when hundreds of Lyons residents gathered at Planet Bluegrass for the “Taste of Lyons with a Splash of Blues,” featuring Hazel Miller. The event was organized by the volunteer efforts of the Lyons Regional Library District Foundation in an effort to raise funds for the new library, which is being planned for construction at its new location on Railroad Avenue.

Guests ate, drank, and mingled on the lawn of the beautiful Planet Bluegrass, where eight restaurants and catering companies set up their tables and shared their fare. Nearby in the Wildflower Pavilion, Hazel Miller, accompanied by her amazing band, sang her heart out while people danced the night away with friends and loved ones.
The event was a huge success, raising over $42,000 for the library building project. None of this would have been possible without the unbridled generosity of you, our community! The Lyons Regional Library District Foundation would like to give a BIG thanks to all who attended and participated in the fundraising efforts. Also, it is with sincere appreciation that we acknowledge those who contributed valuable time and resources to make the success of this event possible:
