BOT Hears Bleak Report

The Board of Trustees (BOT) got an earful of bleak news about the State of Colorado’s fiscal sustainability from Wade Buchanan, President of the Bell Policy Center (an independent research/advocacy group based in Colorado). He gave a forty-five minute power point presentations with some sobering graphs and pie charts. In a nutshell, the demand for services (i.e. Medicaid, Education, Courts and Prisons, Transportation Infrastructure, etc.) that the state generally funds is going up, while revenues (taxes), because of TABOR and other measures that have been passed
