Five Pieces of Lyons Gold

There was Beulah Rose Onyx, White Yule Creek Marble, and South Beaver Creek Granite. In addition there was plentiful Lyons Sandstone and five pieces of Lyons gold.
Under the golden dome of the Colorado State Capitol in Denver, Ed Bruder’s five gleaming photos shone brilliantly on Tuesday afternoon, September 18. The occasion was the opening reception of  “Our Town Colorado,” an exhibit of over 70 photographs from 27 artists representing 11 Colorado communities, including Montrose, Carbondale, Arvada, Craig, Lyons and more.

To many experts, it reflects how deeply our new global economy is interconnected in this new age of globalization. In the past, these connections had more to do with how the various states coordinated their respective efforts with the direction of the national economy. In today’s modern world, the United States can no longer operate in a vacuum, so to speak.
