BOT Approves Christmas Present For Residents

In the interest of full disclosure, let it be known that the author of this article is married to the Mayor.

The good news is, it looks like the residents and business owners of Lyons are getting a nice little Christmas present under the tree this year compliments of the Board of Trustees (BOT). The bad news is, the tag reads “Do Not Open Till Spring.” The Trustees voted unanimously Monday night to instruct Administrator Victoria Simonsen to proceed with the drafting of an ordinance that would drop all water user base rates, residential and commercial, by approximately eight dollars per month.

A Year in Review 2011

In order to allow Lora and I, and our many contributing writers, photographers, proofreaders, and columnists to enjoy the holidays and school break with family and friends, The Lyons Recorder will continue with our tradition of “The Year In Review” edition of the paper. This will be a two-part series; Part I to be published on December 29, and Part II on January 5. We hope that everyone in the community had a very Merry Christmas, and we also hope that 2012 will indeed be a very happy and prosperous New Year for everybody! In an evening that was described as “mostly house keeping” by Town Clerk Deb Anthony, the Board of Trustees (BOT) put on a unified front Tuesday night (Monday was the New Year’s holiday) and passed every measure, except one, by a unanimous 7 – 0 vote.
