Boulder County is hosting a Geospatial Summit in celebration of Geographic Awareness Week on Friday, November 20, in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room on the third floor of the Boulder County Courthouse, 1325 Pearl Street, Boulder. The purpose Boulder County Geospatial Summit is to bring together people from business, academia, and government who have a presence in Boulder County and have an interest in the geospatial technology, GIS, geography and cartography.
Sessions run from 10 a.m.

The public is invited to attend the Boulder holiday light show “Snow Much Fun” in Central Park located at 1236 Canyon Boulevard (near the Bandshell). The park will be illuminated for the first time with more than 200,000 LED lights. The lights will be on display from November 17 through January 3, from 5 to 11 p.m. daily.

Thanks to the pooled purchase program, Solar Benefits Colorado, the total number of electric vehicles in Boulder County has increased by approximately twenty percent in the past two months. To date, 166 metro-area residents (approximately 100 within Boulder County) have taken advantage of an $8,600 discount on a 2015 Nissan LEAF. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is able to once again collect unwanted medication through a drug collection box. The Drug Enforcement Agency and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment are assisting with the funding for the destruction of the collected medication, which is allowing us to offer this service to the community.

The Boulder County Elections Division has updated the unofficial vote tally for the 2015 Coordinated Election. Results are available at www.BoulderCountyVotes.org.
The Elections Division added 1,479 additional ballots to the tally today, for a total of 86,690 ballots counted. Voter turnout in Boulder County this year was 44.9% of active registered voters.
