This week, Bob Hullinghorst, Treasurer for Boulder County, announced two new programs for taxpayers in mailings sent with tax notices to just over 120,000 property owners.
Under the SEED program for “Special Electronic Deposits,” taxpayers will be able to sign up for direct automatic withdrawal for either one or two payments next year. Over 500 property owners have already agreed to be in the pilot program being tested for taxes due this year.

It was a daunting agenda for the Board of Trustees (BOT) Tuesday night. It began with a ninety-minute workshop with the Sustainable Futures Commission’s presentation on net metering, and a review of the Planning and Community Development Commission’s recommendations for regulations to create a site plan review process for the proposed Commercial Eastern Corridor (CEC). Then it was on to the three public hearings and second readings on new ordinances (two for the proposed CEC and one for an electric rate increase). Folks of all ages, from crawlers to sitters (including some entertaining young people), came together earlier on January 19 at “Motown and More” to let it all hang out in Smokin’ Dave’s Log Cabin. Besides the usual couples and solo dancers, people joined in for some lively group dances, threading about from one to another in medleys.
