According Boulder County Coroner Emma Hall and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder resident Michel Van Duym, age forty-six, was stuck and killed while riding his bike through Lyons last Saturday evening (May 11) at approximately 5:11 p.m.

LYBSA Softball Tournament
The Lyons Youth Baseball and Softball Association is hosting the seconnd annual Boys 9-10 Recreational baseball tournament, sponsored by local Lyons Business Somkin’ Dave’s BBQ and Taphouse. Eight teams form Lyons and Longmont will be playing in a preseason tune up tournament May 18-19 at the Bohn Park Ball Fields. There will be 100+ players participating along with 200-300 spectators over the two-day period.

Clinics with Yellow Designs Stunt Team
The Yellow Designs Stunt Team (YDST) will conduct a series of Skills Clinics for bike enthusiasts at two different skill levels. The next meeting for the “Heart of Lyons” will be a public gathering to further explore community interest in and concerns for the evolving library project. It is slated for Wednesday, May 29, at 7 p.m., at Lyons Valley Village. A visioning session will give everyone in attendance an opportunity to provide input on the services and programs that a proposed Lyons Library Community Resource Center might potentially offer.
