Former Lyons resident, and Lyons High School teacher, Elizabeth Ford Boss, will celebrate her 100th birthday, on Wednesday, February 5, 2014.
Born in Carr, Colorado, Elizabeth grew up in Greeley, and graduated from College High School in 1931, and earned a BA degree in business and education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1935. Christmas morning will be just a little bit merrier this year for hundreds of families in Lyons. Emily Dusel, Executive Director of the Lyons Community Foundation announced that checks totaling nearly one million dollars were mailed last Friday morning (December 20) to residents of the greater Lyons area who were impacted by the September floods.
