"Peloton" of bikers

Several Boulder County Sheriff’s Deputies, coming home from the big pot bust near Raymond last Tuesday evening (August 31), stopped a very large (60 to 80) “peloton” of recreational bikers riding through Lyons. The deputies scolded them for riding through such a densely populated, and congested traffic area in a manner which obstructed traffic. The officers said this was not the first time this group had been warned, but it might be the last.

COMMUNITY BBQ POSTPONED!!

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has regretfully announced, that because of the on going fire west of Boulder, the annual Lyons Community Barbeque, scheduled for Friday, September 10 has been postponed until a date to be determined. Officials stated that manpower is currently stretched too thin to justify taking Deputies off the front lines to volunteer at the barbeque.
