The speed with which the Board of Trustees (BOT) raced through their agenda Monday night might have led one to believe there were a few Duke/Wisconsin fans in the room trying to make it home in time for the final thrilling minutes of the game. Congratulations to the Blue Devils, and to the Trustees, who adjourned their meeting at 9:17 p.m., a new record!

This week I spoke with Marcelo Ferreira, the Emergency Management Coordinator with the Boulder Office of Emergency Management (OEM), who helped me understand how the OEM helps coordinate disaster response and recovery efforts.

The “dog days” of summer usually arrive in August, but in Lyons they get here a little bit earlier.
