Parking Passes Now Available
The Town of Lyons Parks & Recreation Department will once again implement a five-dollar per vehicle parking fee for those who wish to park in the Meadow or Bohn Park parking lots on weekends and holidays. The parking fee will be enforced for the 2013 summer season (April 15 through October 1). Residents of Lyons will not be charged the five-dollar parking fee as long as they utilize a “resident” parking pass, which can be obtained at no charge for all

It was a big agenda Monday night at the Board of Trustees (BOT) meeting. Chock-a-block full of the usual stuff: work shopping about creating urban renewal districts, a report by Sgt. Nick Goldberger, approving liquor licenses, leasing town land, adopting late fees on utility bills, imposing limits on marijuana grows, approving equipment purchases for Public Works, approving the consent agenda, giving Trustee and Staff reports, etc. The real interesting item came after an executive session concluded and everyone had gone home. Residents of the Riverbend Mobile Home Park (501 Main Street, across from Planet Bluegrass) were awakened in the early hours (about 5 a.m.) on Monday, February 25, to a structure fire in their midst. Volunteers from the Lyons Fire Department were on the scene in a matter of minutes, but the home was already “fully engaged” according to Lyons Fire Chief J.J. Hoffman.
