Christmas morning will be just a little bit merrier this year for hundreds of families in Lyons. Emily Dusel, Executive Director of the Lyons Community Foundation announced that checks totaling nearly one million dollars were mailed last Friday morning (December 20) to residents of the greater Lyons area who were impacted by the September floods.

McConnell Bridge in Lyons is now open for public use. The two-way bridge is the second access to and from Lyons Valley Park, in southeast Lyons. McConnell Bridge sustained extensive damage in the September flood and has been closed since then. Full, temporary access has been established as of Monday, December 23.
