Mark your calendars, Saturday, March 20. “Pass the hat for Haiti” a humanitarian fundraiser in the Wildflower Pavilion at Planet Bluegrass will kickoff at 7 p.m. Through the efforts of a host of Lyons residents, this community consciousness effort is coming to fruition. Literally dozens of local musicians and bands have come on board to handle the entertainment portion of the gala event. Many of the local restaurants, caterers, and others will be providing the food. In fact, Laudisio’s, a Boulder culinary mainstay, will be donating the proceeds from the sale of the first 200 pizzas sold to the cause. And of course, Lyons’ own Oskar Blues will be supplying the “malted” refreshments.
There will be a silent auction during the evening, with many fabulous gifts having already been donated. If you or your group, or business would like to donate a gift toward the effort, please contact Sam or Mindy at The Stone Cup. Advance tickets for the event are available at The Cup for $25 per person. Tax-deductible checks for the fundraiser can be made out to Higher Ground Ministries International; all proceeds from this benefit will be donated to Mercy Corps.
