Clinics with Yellow Designs Stunt Team
The Yellow Designs Stunt Team (YDST) will conduct a series of Skills Clinics for bike enthusiasts at two different skill levels. Clinics will have a minimum of five participants and a maximum of twenty for the class to be held. Interested parties may register for the clinics at www.yellowdesigns.com. choreographed thrill-shows and extreme stunt demonstrations at a wide variety of special events! With over eleven years of experience that includes performing on America’s Got Talent and all over the world at various events, festivals, grand openings, corporate parties and NFL halftime shows, the showmanship and talent of the YDST is unmatched! Come learn from the pros! Participants will learn basic bike handling skills, jumping basics, balancing and braking, airs, basic bike maintenance, and more! Come out, make some new friends, and have fun on two wheels!
Beginner Bike Skills Clinic held on Saturday, May 11, 10 a.m. to noon, is for riders 5 to 8 years old. Cost is $45.
Intermediate Bike Skills Clinic held on Saturday, May 18, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. , is for riders 9 to 12 years old. Cost is $45.
Invasive Plant Management Class
Are you a nature enthusiast? Do you wonder which thistles are native? Interested in learning control methods for non-native invasive plants on your property? Please join us Saturday, May 11, for an opportunity to be exposed to nature. We’ll briefly discuss the meaning of a “weed,” its legal classifications, the ecological classifications, and interpreting The State of Colorado Weed Law. Then we’ll take time to address local concerns, various control methods, and being “Garden Smart.” If you happen to bring your own samples, we’ll try our best to assist you with plant identification. This class is free to anyone sixteen and older, and will be held at Lyons Town Hall on Saturday May 11, from 9 to11a.m. To register contact the (303) 823-8250.
Rocky Mountain Whitewater Cup Championship
Team Colorado and Lyons Kayak Club invite you to compete in the first annual Rocky Mountain Whitewater Cup Championships, May 10 through 12. This will be the final leg of the inaugural Rocky Mountain Whitewater Cup Series. The weekend will include wildwater, freestyle, and slalom competitions and intensive instruction for beginners, intermediate, and advanced paddlers. Join us for a pig roast on Saturday evening in Meadow Park! The wildwater race will be held on the Apple Valley Run on the Lower North St. Vrain. The freestyle competition will be held at the Black Bear and A-Hole venue. The slalom race will be held on the Meadow Park Slalom Course. This is a Southwest Regional Team Qualification Race. Adult Cardio Sculpt Fitness
This class is designed to help maintain your cardiovascular health by combining high intensity cardiovascular routines with strength training. We welcome you to come and enjoy the benefits of working out in a group setting. Must be eighteen years or older. Classes will be held at the Walt Self Senior Center on Thursdays, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., from April 25 through May 23. Classes are $10 each, or pre register for all five classes for $50. Must have eight pre-registered in order to hold the class. Please register online or stop by Town Hall during business hours.

LYBSA 2nd Annual 9-10 Rec. Baseball Tournament
The Lyons Youth Baseball and Softball Association is hosting a second annual Boys 9 to 10 recreational baseball tournament, sponsored by local Lyons Business Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ and Taphouse. Eight teams from Lyons and Longmont will be playing in a preseason tune up tournament May 18 and 19, at the Bohn Park Ball Fields.
There will be a hundred plus players participating along with two to three hundred spectators over the two-day period. Games will be played throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday. The concession stand will be open for business! Come on down and support youth sports in Lyons!
