Over the last three years, the web site of the Lyons Recorder has quietly grown in popularity. Each day more than 150 readers visit lyonsrecorder.com. Use of tablets and smart phones has grown from almost nothing to more than 30 readers each day.
Newspaper management is pleased with the growth. It’s as if they purchased one newspaper and gradually grown it into two. Those that prefer their news in print need not fear. The Lyons Recorder is format neutral. It will continue to provide the news in print as long as there are subscribers that prefer print. And it will continue to provide the news on the latest technology.
The Lyons Recorder celebrates our web site’s 3rd year by relaunching it with many improvements. Our biggest improvement is support for tablets and smart phones. We’ve changed the organization and layout so that it fits on small screens much better. Readers with laptops and traditional monitors benefit from a new layout that adjusts to fill their screen size.
We’ve upgraded our calendar and classified systems. They’re simpler to use and easier to read.
We’ve added the ability for readers to send us news.
We’ve added an on-line store. Readers can purchase print subscriptions, on-line subscriptions, or a combined subscription. Subscriptions prices remain at $39 per year. Subscriptions outside of Boulder County which include print remain at $44 per year. Shoppers can pay with credit card or check.
