The Lyons Polar Bear Club (LPBC) will once again be plunging into the cold, cold waters of the icy St. Vrain River for charity! The LBPC’s third-annual Valentine’s Day Plunge fundraiser will be held Sunday, February 12, at 2 p.m., at the Black Bear Hole parking lot, across from the Black Bear Inn.  The general public is invited to participate in this invigorating event, or just simply attend and enjoy the festivities.

Republican Party Caucus February 7, 2012

The Republican caucuses for precincts 913, 917, and 918, which are the precincts for Lyons, will be held at Lyons Middle/Senior High School (in the cafetorium), at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.  Please plan to arrive by 6:30 pm for check-in. You must be a registered Republican voter in these precincts as of December 7, 2011 to participate in these caucuses. All interested caucus participants are encouraged to pre-register by going to www.bouldercountygop.org.

PCDC Five Acre Annexation - “No Action Until . . .”

In the interest of full disclosure, let it be known that the author of this article is married to the Mayor.
Now that the medical marijuana issue is officially on the April ballot, the Planning and Community Development Commission (PCDC) and the Board of Trustees (BOT) have a new “hot potato” to toss around during their meetings. And the new potato is whether or not to remove the public vote on non-residential five-acre annexations into the Town of Lyons.

In a Tuesday night meeting (Monday was MLK Day) that at times looked as if it could go on forever, the Board of Trustees (BOT) slogged their way through a very dense agenda and still managed to adjourn before 10:15 p.m. Even Lyons Substation Supervisor Sgt.
