Guest Opinion: Obeying the rules of the road

I am a motorist and a cyclist.  As a motorist I am required by law to obey the rules of the road, with the prior knowledge communicated through a test, that failure to obey these

rules can result in fines or penalties against my driver’s license, and the suspension or revoking of my license.  As a cyclist, I am provided the same privileges as a motorist; I am expected to follow the rules of the road, with the knowledge that failure to do so can result in injury, even though it is unlikely justice will take the form of penalties, and suspension or revoking of relevant licenses because cyclists in general are not held accountable when they break the law.
