Some people have asked what benefit the town received from the Centurion Bicycle event. For one, a check to the Lyons Community Foundation for $2,000. And a check to the Lyons High School Band for at least
$500, but maybe it was more. They did pay to rent the space in the park, also. At the end of the race they gave cases of milk, yoghurt, oranges, trays of brownies and other perishables to the seniors and to the food bank in Lyons. 30 cases of yoghurt are being stored at Steamboat Mountain Foods for the food bank. This all adds up to several hundreds of dollars as well. I applaud the town of Lyons, the organizers of the race and the volunteers for a well run and successful event. Thank you to everyone that helped make it happen.
