Over forty participants pulled their golf caps and visors down tight and low to battle the wind (25 to 30 mile per hour gusts), the course (Fox Hill Country Club in Longmont), and each other in the fifth annual Lyons Community Foundation (LCF) fundraising golf tournament last Thursday morning. The public is invited to join St. Vrain Valley School District students and teachers at this year’s Tech Fair to be held on Saturday, April 20, at Skyline High School, 600 E. Mountain View Avenue in Longmont. Projects from all subject areas will be on display from 10:30 a.m. to noon. A visit to the Fair will provide a great opportunity to see what students are learning in school, and how they are applying technology to their day-to-day activities and special projects.

With their arms full of dozens of boxes of Thin Mints, Samoas, Tag-A-Longs, and Dos-Si-Dos, etc., the Girl Scouts from Troop 71533 stopped by the Lyons Fire Protection District Station House last Saturday morning to present their “Home Town Heroes” with nearly ninety boxes of cookies.
