Summer Hours Begin March 1 offering our guests two more hours of animal enjoyment every day. From March 1 through October 31, the zoo’s hours will run from 9 a.m. – 6 p.

The Community That Dances Together

Folks of all ages, from crawlers to sitters (including some entertaining young people), came together earlier  on January 19 at “Motown and More” to let it all hang out in Smokin’ Dave’s Log Cabin. Besides the usual couples and solo dancers, people joined in for some lively group dances, threading about from one to another in medleys. It was a time to be with friends and neighbors; old, new, and people who have been here twenty years but never met. You can watch your friends kick up their heels to  “Shout” by the Isley Brothers on YouTube.

 Mardi Gras Potluck At Old Gallery

While the “official” holiday season is behind us, there is another festival to celebrate; Mardi Gras Season has officially begun!   Seizing on the opportunity to brighten up our dark, cold January days, The Allenspark Old Gallery and Community Center kicks off its 2013 Music Potluck year with the Lionel Young Blues and Boogie-Woogie duo. Each monthly potluck will feature a different theme, and what better way to start than with an effervescent, slam-bang Mardi Gras party!
