The GearSPOT (138 East Main Street) in the Lyons Village Central Plaza is celebrating their grand opening/ribbon cutting on Friday, March 22, from 3 to 6 p.m. Proprietor Lisa Ruoff invites the community to come on in, check out the outdoor sporting gear, and enjoy some munchies and refreshment.
Ruoff, who moved here from Carbondale late last year, had spent most of her adult life owning and operating restaurants in the Roaring Fork Valley. An avid outdoor enthusiast, she was surprised that there weren’t many places to get quality used outdoor gear in the general vicinity, and decided to fill the niche. She explains, “We’re happy to be a part of the
local Lyons business scene, and offering the community not only a place to obtain gear, but to sell it as well. We are all consignment!”
Carrying everything from winter gear, such as skiing (Alpine and Nordic), skating (hockey and figure) sleds, toboggans, climbing gear, ice axes, cold weather clothing and shoes, and even hard to find snowshoes, to outdoor sporting goods for the warmer months, i.e. hiking, camping (backpacks, tents, sleeping bags), kayaking (boats, paddles, floatation devices), climbing gear, golf, and other sports equipment.
Ruoff encourages everyone to go through their attics and garages for gently used quality outdoor gear and stop by the GearSPOT for a chat and check out what’s new at the store. GearSPOT is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony is sponsored by Lyons Area Chamber of Commerce.
