Operation Re-Scrap, whose mission is to spark creativity by giving a second life to scraps, bobbles, and underappreciated craft and home décor supplies everywhere, is launching its first crafting consignment sale and handmade market this April 21 – 23 at The Ranch in Loveland. Operation Re-Scrap was founded last year by Kim Ivkov, a Lyons resident with a vision for reuse and up-cycling in the crafting world.
Operation Re-Scrap’s first event is designed to appeal to Front Range bargain hunting crafters and craft-savvy innovators; those with a penchant and a talent for breathing new life into discarded finds. The 10,000 square-foot second-hand craft and decor faire will include:
Consignment Sale – where crafters will part, via donation or sale, with no-longer-needed treasures and supplies so others may up-cycle. Items will include deeply discounted, slightly-or-never used fabric, beads, paper, patterns, books, machines, home décor, and handmade items. For a complete list, visit www.OperationRescrap.com. Donated items will be gifted to organizations that are using arts and crafts to support imaginations in need.
Handmade Market – a local, brick and mortar ETSY experience where local artisans will sell chic handmade creations.
Vendor Faire – local retailers will demonstrate their craft and home décor ideas, while showing off supplies and other goods for sale.
Crafting Bliss Academy – a destination for learning new techniques through inspiring demonstrations and full-fledged classes.
“This is a call for crafters, artists, and artisans to dust off their neglected tools and empty their scrap bins; to release their ‘no longer needed’ supplies and unfinished crafting endeavors so that they may fuel another’s creativity,” said Ivkov. “While they’re at it, they’ll find the inspiration and supplies they need, at deeply discounted prices.”
Operation Re-Scrap will be open at The Ranch - First National Bank Exhibition Hall, at 5280 Arena Circle Thursday, April 21, from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crafting manufacturers and retailers, crafters and artists interested in consigning, donating, or featuring their business or handmade items may please visit www.operationRescrap.com to learn more.
